I’ve been blogging, off and on, for ten years now. I’ve written blog posts and articles about a hundred different themes. From weight loss to faith, from being a super hero to being a dad, I’ve offered spirituality, philosophy, practicality, and just life in general. Sometimes what I write is funny, other times it can be dead serious. The words I tap out on my keyboard come from within me, from my experiences, from my heart, my mind, and my soul. These last ten years has seen me pound out hundreds of blog articles, thousands of forum posts, and uncountable Facebook and Twitter status updates. It has been an amalgamation of everything I see, think, and feel, distilled into ones and zeroes, translated by a web browser in order to be read by anybody. Or nobody at all.
The latter, of course, being more likely.
So what’s different about The Simon Project? What makes it something I have never done before? First, it’s part of a networked initiative of sites, all dedicated to something different. The Simon Project is about life, about living in general, and about living better than before. Just as importantly, this new site is about doing something new and amazing with my wonderful wife, Nikkirae (formerly of nikkirae.com). She’s my rock, my pillar, the person who is making all this possible, by being the kind of strength I need. It is because of her that I have been able to lose weight, to bring down my LDL cholesterol, to feel and be better. She will be posting here as much as me – or maybe more! – with her views, recipes, and experiences.
Look at the top of this page and you’ll see a few tabs. Each of them says something different; food, fitness, family, faith, friends, fun, and the future. Expect to see a wide variety of topics, all under those seven umbrellas. Those are the core areas we’re focusing on, and while it’s a pretty broad spectrum of topics, each one of them are central to our improved lifestyle.
So, more to come – a lot more – and I hope to see you around!
