Every once in a while, someone asks me what I mean when I say I’m a “Zen Christian”.  How, they wonder, can you follow both Buddha and Jesus? The short answer, of course, is that you cannot, at least not where they diverge.  But where Jesus’ teachings are about how we can come to know God, there are some aspects of Zen which can assist, and it’s something I’m slowly learning more about.

Very likely, I’ll be starting a new blog soon – yes, that means I’ll be updating at least two if not three.  That blog will detail my journey of faith, and include some of the stuff now posted at Big Simon, my main blog.  That site will be located at zenfaith.com.

Just picked up a new domain, heroprime.com.  Unlike a few of the domains I’ve had a while, this one has a purpose.  A friend of mine and I are working out an idea for a superhero webcomic.  I won’t give away any details, but we’re both pretty excited about the story we worked through last night.  I’ll be doing the writing, he’ll do the art, then ship it to me for the lettering.  We’ll probably put up two pages a week.

Really looking forward to getting this project going, though admittedly it probably won’t be up and running for at least six months.

If you’re coming here expecting a new post, well, I suppose you’ve found one.  But the nature of this site is changing, and I suppose anyone who’s still bothering to stop by once in a while ought to know.  You see, I’m trying to make some changes – if you read the posts I made back in March, you’ll know what I’m talking about.  The changes I’m trying to make are simple – I want to live a better life.  That means better decisions, better health, better communication… everything should improve.  

That said, I’ve never been very good at starting over.  I’m giving it a shot, however, by making this site the hub for all my online activities.  Meaning, of course, I won’t be doing life-blogging or posting much in the way of personal stuff here.  But don’t fret!  I’ve moved everything that was here to my old domain, the original site I started blogging with back over half a decade ago.  You can find all my old posts at bigsimon.com.

What you’ll find here will be information on domains I’ve picked up, new sites I’m working on, things of that nature.   If any of that interests you, you’re welcome to keep on hanging out here.  You’ll see some changes happening, though – like the categories switching up, and the links being dropped.  Don’t worry, though, all the links are over at the other blog, still alive and kicking.
